Things you should know about me
I have been doing my own website since 1999. It has been through so many changes in between then and now, and will probably go through even more in the years to come. Or not, the future is always uncertain, isn’t it?
All my pre-2006 content (which is quite a lot actually) has been archived off the web for good, no point in keeping it around anymore since I feel it no longer relates to who I am now, and also I don’t really care for it much so it’s best to keep it away.
Recently, my hosting decided to terminate its free service, leaving me site-less. However, I was able to make backups of all of my 2006-2008 stuff, and it can now be found here, but without the comments.
You probably have questions, right? That’s perfectly ok, a lot of people wonder how did I become this awesome. I can’t promise I’ll answer all of them though, but fire away.
How about a little bio?
I’m 25, I live in South America. I make websites, but currently not earning enough to call it a real job, more like a hobby that pays well. Hopefully that will change soon. I’m currently studying Japanese language at university.
So you’re into anime and shit?
Not really, but I do read manga (and comics in general) every now and then.
Is Vidar your real name?
No, but it’s the name I go by on the internets.
What’s your niche? What do you usually write about?
I don’t have a niche. I just write about whatever is on my mind or find interesting, whether it’s a brand new thing or ages old.
Let’s talk social networks! Which ones are you on?
None, except maybe 9rules notes. I mostly stick to forums and IRC though.
Generally speaking, what kind of things do you like?
Winter and cold (and if possible dry) weather.
Good food from mostly everywhere around the World except really spicy stuff or sausages. Beer, but lesser forms of it will do as well.
Tea, especially ginseng and oolong. Also boldo and cedrĂ³n for local flavor. English varieties are a close third.
Music and videogames both old and new, as evidenced by the site’s footer.
Macs, but don’t worry, I’m not a fanboy.
A joint every now and then is fine too, just like a cat.
What about Mudkips?
Oh, I liek them too.
Why did you decide to go bilingual?
I don’t know really. Ever since the first moment I had a site, I wrote it in English because it was strictly for internet audiences and not for people I know offline. That much hasn’t changed, but recently I’ve been wanting to write stuff in Spanish so there.
Your design is pretty cool, can I use it?
No. This theme is mine and mine alone. And no, you can’t have it when I’m done with it either.
I need pictures of you to mast… I mean admire your beauty, where can I find some?
You can check my account at 23. It needs a little updating, but it’ll do the trick.
No Flickr?
No.
Why?
Flickr got bought by Yahoo! and they suck donkey cock. At first it wasn’t that much of a problem, but then they forced the merge on everyone so I jumped ship.
How can I get in touch with you?
Well, if you must… I have a gmail account named “vidar” with an extra a (so it’s aa). Please don’t add me to your IM or send me invites or anything like that, and make sure the subject is descriptive.
